TOUR OF SEMINARY FACILITYOUR LADY OF THE BURNING BUSH CHAPEL
In addition to the large, main chapel, there is a smaller oratory. Throughout the history of the seminary, it had been located in different parts of the building, depending on the needs of the community. In 2005, a classroom was transformed permanently in the oratory. The oratory provides an intimate setting for liturgical celebrations with small groups. More than this, however, it provides a quiet place for contemplative prayer and reflection. The title of the chapel, "Our Lady of the Burning Bush", was chosen precisely because it highlights Mary's posture before God, one a complete receptivity, that is, 'on fire' but not consumed. Among the religious items in this chapel are: a crucifix, two icons (see below), an image of St. Joseph, a statue of St. John Vianney, patron of diocesan priests, and the Stations of the Cross. The wooden crucifix above the tabernacle is from Cardinal Muench's collection. In 2006 a local artist was commissioned to write two icons for this chapel: Christ the Teacher and Our Lady of the Burning Bush.
